Neighborhood Meeting - 9/13/25
Parker opened by discussing the board and how the board works.
Dues and Financials
Nick and Courtney are the treasurers. Park is financially stable. Dues go to park upkeep and park boundaries. We have 7 people that haven’t paid for the current year. 0 for previous years. Beginning balance of 12/23 and then goes through 2024. We have pretty much everything paid through the rest of the year except a few mowings and any additional upkeep. Our checking balance is 6,389.43. Savings to date is 16233.66. Each year we transfer in 2000. We need to keep 2500 in to not get dinged. We are with Huntington now. Any suggestions as far as financials can go to Nick and we can see what we can do.
Painting of Playground Equipment and Shed
Hiring to repaint and reconstruct garbage square. Make cement square to make it easy to move in and out. Paint equipment and shed. We will get numbers for how much repainting will be. Will probably be over $500 so we will need a vote of some sort. A neighbor brought up buying new chains. Asked if anyone is opposed or questions about painting. Everything together was $2500ish about 2-3 years ago when we got the quote for it. Jungle Gym, Slide, Swing Set, Shed to be painted. Can get quote and then put on FB for number. Vote on $3000 yay or nay vote on attendees at meeting then we can put on FB. Beth made a motion to spend $3000 to paint playground and shed. Second Mike All in favor No all opposed.

Website and Directory
Park Reservation has been going well. 25
PW for directory – Password is ParkshoreBeadleLake.
Dock Waiting List – Previously it has been where only Parker can see it, but the spreadsheet is on the list. It is shrank so the private information can’t see it. Several neighbors are waiting for a spot, but you can see where you are on the list.
Park Rules Change – No actual park rules change
Boat Loading/Unloading Procedures – Matt talked about the 3 changes. The first change is rule # 12 The addition is to conserve space they must go straight from the shore to conserve space. #15 PWC up to board member. #16 Having dock and putting dock in each year. Cannot be used for maximum of one year used to be 3 years. It will revolve to next person. 4-5 people on the waiting list have moved to the docks from the wait list. There has been some cars left near the boat launch please make sure you bring your cars to the parking lot or reserved spots near the tennis courts and not park at the loading or unloading launch.
Open Discussion Topics
Trail Cams for Park Security – Some people have asked about trail cams by the boats. We have to appreciate while the docks are on public land they can be walked on by anyone the boats are private and can’t be on by everyone. We want to make sure people know that they are owned by private people. The trail cams feel like an invasion of privacy if we install cams by the boats, however we are looking at and discussing putting trail cams by the entrance. A few years ago we had damage by the gates and non-neighborhood carts coming through the opening. The problem with setting up a cam is that we have to have power set up to it or a battery that dies often. Some neighbors mentioned that we could use hookup, then who has access to the cam, etc. Our thought was trail cam was best idea, but open to discussion. A neighbor asked about talking to lawyer/insurance to someone getting hurt at the park. Ken mentioned consulting talking to the police or dnr to determine which camera to use. Ken would like to do some investigating and report back to the board.
Streetlights – Courtney wanted to bring up streetlights and getting some ideas. There is a lot to it. There is a system to draft a petition we would get an assessment. We would need to get more than 50% of the neighbors signatures. The cost for the evaluation/assessment could possibly be covered and then we could get a number for how much it would add. She is concerned about the increase of people breaking in to cars/garage. Some neighbors are concerned about the added cost of lights. Some neighbors say the break ins happen every few years. Courtney mentioned she is personally going to get try to get the numbers so she feels safer. First step is to find out how much the assessment would be and decide if we want to move forward. Another thought is if this doesn’t work out is putting solar light at the end of the driveways. Neighbor mentioned best thing to do is to deter crime is to call 911.
Tennis Courts – When we fixed it last time it was $11,000 to resurface the tennis courts. Concern about the fencing and kids climbing the fencing and kids getting stuck on it. Tennis courts have had a lot of abuse on it over the last few years. If a quote is giving for the fence can we look at getting it redone as a priority. Board will set a goal for a quote for the spring meeting.
Children w/Golf Carts and golf carts from other neighborhoods and Minibikes – A neighbor asked about the golf carts and concern about parked cars and a golf cart hitting it. Is there a way to identify golf carts. Stickers for golf carts? We have enough stickers for golf carts. Parker looked into golf carts driving on streets. In Michigan it looks like they need to be 16 driving a golf cart on street. They can be ticketed. Motorbikes – They do go faster and you can’t see them as much. A lot of them aren’t street legal and the township is not enforcing them.
Open Items
Formal Assessment on Docks – CAD layout on docks. We can link it with our directory. We should know who has boats on docks. Will have that by spring meeting. Matt and Julie have everything they need. Jerry asked Are we maxed on the spaces for the docks? That is why we are making the formal assessment on the docks. We can’t extend the docks too far in the lake because of the law. It would require all new docks. What is happening to the water in the lake? Water is lower than usual.
